Device requirements
Make sure to install the Dangleverse app onto two separate Apple devices:
- iPhone for puck tracking
- Apple TV, iPad, Mac, or iPhone for gameplay screen
(when it asks you to login to Dangleverse use the email that was used to make the purchase).
Most device models from the last few years are supported. The exact hardware and software requirements are:
- iPhone: iPhone 11 or newer running iOS 16 or newer (iPhone SE models are not supported)
- iPad: iPad running iOS 16 or newer
- Apple TV: 4k 1st-gen (2017) or newer running tvOS 16+
- Mac: M1 chip or newer running MacOS 13.5+
Tracking device
The puck tracking iPhone should be positioned 48" above the ground with the rear cameras facing down at your stickhandling area. Any height above 36" should be good, though the lower it is, the smaller the tracking area will be. We highly recommend this stand. Or you can simply use the spatula method so you can start playing right away.
Gameplay device
You can instead use an iPad or another iPhone for the gameplay device, in which case we recommend this iPad stand or a second phone stand.
If you want the TV experience there are two ways to go about it...
Use an Apple TV streaming box that's connected to your TV using HDMI.
OR
Connect an iPhone or iPad to your TV using HDMI. Use an HDMI cable and USB-C HDMI adapter like this one. If you're using an iPhone or iPad with a lightning port you'd need a Lightning to HDMI adapter like this one.
Do not mirror your iPhone or iPad to your TV as it will cause extremely noticeable lag.
Pucks and balls
You can use a regular puck, Xenopuck, Green Biscuit or any training/street hockey ball. Here are a few tips to get the best experience:
- Regular pucks and Xenopucks work best with a white surface (e.g. synthetic ice tiles) and white tape on your stick blade
- Green Biscuits and balls can be used on most common surfaces (e.g. concrete, asphalt, hardwood, tile, vinyl, etc.)
